PORTABLE BATTERY PROGRAM
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is committed to supporting customers, who are most vulnerable to power disconnection hardships, in preparing for, enduring, and recovering from Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events.
This year PG&E is launching a portable battery program to Medical Baseline customers who live in areas where there is an elevated threat of wildfire and Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS).
The PG&E Medical Baseline (“MBL”) Customer Portable Battery Pilot Program provides support to certain vulnerable PG&E Medical Baseline Customers who may lack access to portable batteries or alternative methods to meet their medically necessary needs for electricity service during PSPS events.
Through this initiative, selected, qualifying customers will receive a backup battery to power vital medical equipment and necessary appliances during PSPS events.
Selected PG&E Medical Baseline customers should expect an outreach phone call, where a representative will collect data to ensure the customer can be included in the evaluation for inclusion in the program.
